Men's Cross Country Captures 13th straight Big Ten Title
The nation's #2 ranked Men's Cross Country team continued to dominate the Big Ten, capturing it's 13th straight conference title. Junior Mohammed Ahmed led the way for the Badgers, who took 5 of the top 6 spots on the way to a dominating conference meet. They scored 17 points (lower the better), easily outpacing 2nd place Indiana, who had 60 points. The 17 point total was the 2nd best in meet history, just missing their own record of 16 set at the 2005 meet.
Ahmed broke a Conference Meet record, winning with a time of 23:18. The other 4 Badgers to score points were Maverick Darling (2nd at 23:26), Elliot Krause (3rd at 23:27), Reed Connor (5th at 23:36), and Ryan Collins (6th at 23:36).
With the conference championship under their belt the Badgers will next race at the NCAA Great Lakes Regional two weeks from now on Nov. 12th in Toledo, OH.
Congrats to the Men's Cross Country team on taking home the Badgers 1st conference crown of any sort in the 2011-12 season and as always... ON WISCONSIN!
