5 Things to Watch: Revisited
So I thought I'd take a look back at what I wrote as we began Wisconsin's Spring Football season here: http://wiscobadgers.com/articles/spring-scrimmage-2-5-things-to-watch-the-rest-of-spring-ball
The one thing that has changed is that the O-Line and Linebacker situations are much more solid than I thought they would be but still will be something to watch today. Additionally my #5 Thing to Watch has now become the #1 Thing to Watch as Curt Phillips is now down with a torn Meniscus and the severity of the injury isn't totally known at this point. Unfortunatly that really leaves a lack of any experience behind starter Jon Budmayr and could spell the end of Phillips' career as a Badger. With that I will be intently watching the crop of young guns and especially early entrant Joel Stave who the coaching staff continuously have been bringing up in the converstaions about the QB spot. Hopefully he'll show well today and may be in a position to really push for the backup role this fall.
I still have my worries about the WR spot and will be another area of focus for me today as I take in the game from the Press Box. Look for this to be a spot that will not be settled well into the season but also provides a ton of opportunity for the youngsters to win the coaches favor.
Today promises to be a great weather day in Madison so I hope to see some of you out there and look for an interview or two from the fans perspective as we role into Madison!! Have fun today and as always... ON WISCONSIN!!
